Trustees of Akogba

Akogba Mountain and its chain of six other mountains are as old as Ekinrin-Adde community.

Its unique positioning as it shields other sister-mountains from immediate view, overlooking the community in an aggaradized splendor stamping its gaze on the community in emphatic authority.

It also adorns our landscape like an ageless beauty.

But beyond this fascinating picturesque, Akogba is symbolic of the strength of the community, her unity and history. This is because its summit provided an eagle eye view from where the community warriors could see and wade off invaders especially during the inter-tribal wars; particularly the raid of slave traders,  Nupe wars and the Fulani invasion.

Even as its sister-mountain, Ewuta Mountain also gave up her belly-cave as a place of refuge and protection for the young, the aged who are too old to fight in these wars. It also acted as the armoury where even arsenals are fodged.

This cave is large enough to accommodate people in their thousands  such that warriors prepared their weapons of war there.

It is therefore with so much pleasure, that as custodians of this historic monument and with the support of our forebears and elders, that we invite you all to join us as we explore the uncommon natural heritage, monuments and huge tourist attractions that Akogba and its sister-mountains symbolizes.

We hope that this family-friendly adventure, will attract global audiences to the great history of Ekinrin Adde and the unique hospitality that Ekinrin-Adde people are known for.
