Akogba Mountain: exploring our natural Heritage.

Ekinrin Adde the giant of self help, is a richly endowed community located in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The richness of the community is reflected in the beauty of her natural environment, fascinating culture and above a highly resourceful people readily make her a foremost community in Ijumu and in Okun Land.
Akogba mountain is the most prominent physical feature of Ekinrin Adde Community. It is a massive out crop of granite rocks of primitive formation that contains caves which offered protection to the people in the days of intertribal wars. It is from this mountain that Akogba spring took it source. Hence, to the Ekinrin Addes, the Akogba mountain stands not only as one of the physical geographical phenomenon that dotted the landscape, but also as a monument of faith in unity, strength and unfailing protection and sustenance from the supreme being.
History was made on the 18th of June. 2021 when over 160 nature explorers participated in the inaugural edition of Akogba mountain Hike. The Hike is an attempt to explore this nature endowment and showcase the distinguishing characteristics of the diverse landscapes, culture, tradition, and history of Ekinrin Adde.
